How It Works

Boox is a collaborative word game where players take turns adding one word at a time to co-write books, short stories, or memes. Each word you add shapes the next, making every turn an exciting contribution to a unique narrative.

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Boox app (hereby referred to as “Application”) for mobile devices that was created by Andrei Baburin (hereby referred to as “Service Provider”) as a free service. This service is provided “AS IS.”

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include:

• The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those pages.
• The total time spent in the Application.
• The operating system on your mobile device.
• Your chosen username and profile picture.

The Application does not collect or use camera data, microphone data, or precise geolocation.

The Service Provider may use the information you provide to contact you occasionally with important notices or information about the Application, and to improve features and performance.

Required Information

For a better experience, the Application may require you to provide certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:

• Name
• Email address
• Profile picture

You must supply these details to use the core collaborative features of the Application.

Push Notifications

The Application may send push notifications to keep you informed about updates and new collaborative stories. You can opt-out at any time by adjusting your device’s notification settings.

Third-Party Access

Only aggregated, anonymized usage data is periodically transmitted to external analytics services to help improve the Application. The Service Provider may also share information:

• As required by law, such as in response to a subpoena or similar legal process.
• To protect the Service Provider’s rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
• With trusted service providers who have agreed to adhere to this Privacy Policy.

The Application uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Play Services
• Google Analytics for Firebase
• Firebase Crashlytics

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the Application via your device’s standard uninstall process.

Data Retention

The Service Provider will retain user-provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. To request deletion of your data, please contact support@boox.media. You can also delete your account directly within the Application.

Suitable for All Ages

Boox is designed to be enjoyed by users of any age. There are no age-based restrictions or data collection practices beyond those stated above.

Security

The Service Provider implements reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your information.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will post any changes on this page, and continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of those changes.
